The motivation and enthusiasm of these group members is rooted in a passion for music, dance, and a great heritage that spans generations from the early history of our motherland. Music and dance have always had a special meaning to the people of Poland and played an important part of daily life. Poles expressed emotion and told stories in the lyrics of the songs; they celebrated life with dance.

The spirit of Polish heritage lives on in the hearts of Polish Americans in the United States today. The Hejnal Polish American Dancers of Long Island thank Polonia for the opportunity to perform and continue with their plight to sustain Polish culture through the arts. The support of the Polish community enables the group to raise funds to purchase music, songs, and authentic costumes from Poland.

Performances by the Hejnal Polish American Dancers are as authentic as possible, from the musical note to the costume design. The group's repertoire represents many regions of Poland, each celebrating a unique element of what it means to be Polish.

They invite you to listen to the "Hejnal" echoing through history to preserve our Polish heritage.
